People have hit the streets of our famously liberal town to celebrate Obama's victory this evening. I guess politics is the only thing that can wake the quiet town of Berkeley on a weeknight. Tons of people gathered ( and are still there) on Shattuck, mostly students. I received a phone call just a few minutes ago about a dance party on the street. Apparently students are also gathered in Sproul plaza to party.
One reveler was hit even by a car but suffers only a minor injury. People even jumped on top of an AC transit bus. Berkeley has gone wild! As excited as we are ( well, not all) for Obama victory 08 this all seems a little much doesn't it? Although the future president of the United States is more important in the long run than a sports event, so I guess it is okay. Here is the
story.
